Last week I had the pleasure to attend a very special Dior event at the stunning Villa Granada 16, in collaboration with Sotogrande Life Experience, just 30 minute drive from Marbella.
It was a beautiful intimate fragrance experience, where one of Dior’s top fragrance ambassadors, Esperanza Pintado, one of only eight people in the world, unveiled the new Bois Talisman in a beautifully curated setting. Besides of course trying on the beautoful fragrances and discoverign the new scent, it was really interestinng to explore the artistry and stories behind Dior’s haute parfumerie, while discovering one of Sotogrande’s most exquisite homes, Villa Granada 16, which by the way is for sale.

One of the facts that I love most about Dior is how everything is a sign, everything has meaning. And Christian Dior took pride in his passion for the arts of divination and hidden lucky charms: he paid special attention to the lining of his garment, where he discreetly tucked a lucky piece of wood each day. Francis Kurkdjian, Dior Perfume Creative Director, someone also attentive to signs, has a habit of slipping a protective sugar cube into the lapel of his jacket. Therefore the new perfume follows the superstistions of these two men and joining together woody and vanilla and that is how Bois Talisman was born. Powerful and woody, the Bois Talisman silhouette is delicately lined with a trilogy of sweet vanilla notes. An olfactory composition in which the cedar note serves as a mystical shrine for an opulent vanilla note, unfurled in all its facets, this scent is to be worn like a fragrance talisman. To me, it’s a beautiful charismatic scent, and I can see myself wearing it for late night dinners and during the winter season. But what captured my heart, was the new version of their successful perfume Lucky - it’s very clean and elegant and in my opinion a perfect spring/summer perfume.
Another details I admired at the event is their new stunning couture caps, featuring iconic Dior motifs - houndstooth, Dior Oblique, cannage, Toile de Jouy, Mitzah and Plan de Paris – in a harmonious dialogue between fragrance and couture. So you can add a fun personalised touch to your perfume.
