After Amanda turned 6 months old, she started to sit and she also did her first crawling attempts after that date. We got the rubber puzzle mat to cover our cold marble floor and also set up a gate around our living room, as we had quite a few electric cables out in one of the corners of the room and since we were renting that home I couldn’t make all the changes I would have like to. But the baby gate/area was a total success and kept her safe and my mind calm when I had to run to the toilet etc. So what else did she play with the most during those months? Find the answers below!
She still used the Fisher Price Gym, but also a table/pusher toy that could be converted into a table so that she could stand up, but also it could be used as a walker to help her take her first steps. I can’t find the exact one we had, but here is a similar one. I’m not a huge fan of very loud, noisy toys, but you can always switch them off and use the sounds later on. She loved also simple rattles, and balls to catch and to chew on of course.

Books
She has always loved books, but she really enjoys not only to look at them with me, but as she grows, she enjoys flipping the pages on her own. One of her favorite books used to belong to husband, when he was small - Spot’s First Walk. Your child can open some windows on each page and Amanda really loved it and still does.
Also Each Peach Pear Plum has been her favorite from a very young age!
That’s Not My… Books
She loved all of these (as we got quite a few as gifts), especially the unicorn one!
Bath Sticky Toy
I also got these sticky bath pieces as a gift, but I can’t find them anywhere online now! I believe they were from El Corte Ingles, so if you happen to live in Spain, you can check these out - Amanda still plays with these in the bath. But this is also similar and super cute!
Montessori Shape Sorter
This might be a toy for when your baby is closer to his/her first birthday, but it's a good toy to have and you can always give it to your child and see if it interests him/her or if not, leave it hidden for a little while longer.
Unicorn Soft Toy
This was by far her favorite cuddly toy (another gift from one of our friends, thank you!) But we managed to throw it in the washing machine once, so the music doesnt work anymore, but she still loves it so much.
This is not the exact one, but they sell a version of it also on amazon.
And here is the exact same toy:
Musical Learning Cube
Again, not a Montessori toy for sure, but as it was a gift, we have had it in our house and she has loved it.
Swing
Oh my, she loved the swing and still does - a definite hit for all the kids!
Silicone Cubes
Still a hit, they're great as between 6-12 months all babies are teething and these are safe!
Bead Mover
A Montessori toy and also one of our favorites.
Stacker
This is a great toy that will grow on your little one as she grows!
Flash cards
I got a bunch of plastic fruit and animal cards from Aliexpress since she was still putting everything in her mouth and normal cards would have ended up being chewed up in a second.
