A perfect beach day at La Reserva Beach Club, Sotogrande

A few weekends ago we paid a visit to the new La Reserva beach club in Sotogrande - Spain’s first and only private beach! And I must say, I was seriously impressed! What a stunning new beach club, where you can walk and swim on the fine sand of Cádiz, in the middle of the hills. And it has a totally different vibe to any beach clubs you’re used to when comparing them to the ones in Marbella. Not only is it huge, but it has something for everyone - whether you’re a couple looking for a relaxing day by the pool or a family who is into water sports - this is the place to be.

We booked two beds by the adults pool. Perfect for couples like us who don’t have kids or who want to swim, relax and unwind whilst kids are playing at the kids club. Enjoy cocktails or food from the comfort of your sun bed or why not book a table at their restaurant, which is what we did. We also enjoyed a dip in the sandy pool, where also the kids are, but to be honest it’s so big, that there is plenty of space for everyone and you don’t feel crammed at any point, even though it was fully booked! This is the first time that a man-made lagoon has a full sandy bottom surrounded by elegant loungers and Chambaos with full waiter service both on the terraces and 2,800 square metres of sandy beach – bringing the pleasures of the seaside to a truly private and exclusive setting.

Besides the adult pool and the kids club, La Reserva also features an amazing large sports lagoon, where you’re welcome to practice water sports - kayak, paddle boards, SUP boards and event the Mirage Eclipse water bikes. The good thing is that no engines are allowed on the lake, so peace is secured and the environment protected. As well as your relax mode when you’re lying by the pool. The 17,000 square metre sports lagoon that borders the beach club is a gorgeous sea-green manmade lake surrounded by natural vegetation, walking paths and beauty spots from which to take in the views across the fairways and rolling hills of La Reserva down to the sea. A definite must-visit when you’re in Marbella! But make sure to take the time and spend the whole day there.

P.S. La Reserva also offers golf, tennis and more for the extra sporty ones!

And you can rent your own MINI MOKE for a day!
