After staying at the exquisite La Bastide de Gordes Hotel, we made our way to another gorgeous Bastide - La Bastide de Marie near Menerbes village and just 20-minutes from Gordes. The place is so much more than just a hotel in the countryside. This stunning 18th century French farmhouse lies among the vines and holds an incredible interior inside. It’s exactly what you picture a French vineyard estate to be and even more! And no wonder why! Behind the restoration of the hotel are the top hoteliers in France - Jocelyne Sibuet and her husband Jean-Louis. Jocelyne is an incredible interior designer bringing pieces from her travels into her interiors. The twelve stone walled bedrooms all feature natural earthy colours and shabby chic Provincial furniture and you can find some unique antique pieces that handpicked by the owners from markets around southern France.
I loved how the names of the rooms of the hotel were inspired by the fabrics used in the Bastide: Gris de Sauge and Miel d'Oranger - to name a few. You can choose to stay in the main hotel or in the villa Grenache if you’re looking for more exclusivity and privacy. When stepping into our room, Vanilla, I instantly felt like home - in a luxurious yet cozy French home. Everything was just perfect, so inviting and relaxing - from the stunning views to the vineyard from our window to the luxurious bath in the corner of our suite. It’s really the perfect place to unwind, turn off your phone and enjoy the nature and the best of Provence in an authentic yet chic setting. And to take photos - I couldn’t stop seeing a postcard worthy shot in every step I took around La Bastide de Marie. Hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed taking them! More about breakfast, the two beautiful pools, vineyard and more in my next posts!
