La Bastide de Gordes offer lunch in their lovely indoor as well as outdoor restaurant L’Orangerie. We chose a lovely table on the terrace to try their colourful Provençal cuisine accompanied by a local wine that was an incredible gastronomic experience. I especially loved the Black Olive Cookies with the Melon Gazpacho as the Amuse Bouche, wish I could start my meal with those every day! We finished the bottle of wine under the shade of the mulberry trees, just like you would see in the movies. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the Liquor Cherries they bring out as a treat in the end of the meal. You must try them when you're in Gordes! And what a better way to end the lunch than with a siesta by one of the 4 pools.The main one literally “hangs” above the city walls, creating a 25 metre line of water that blends in perfectly with the greenery of the gardens. There is really no words needed as the photos speak for themselves..
