Mallorca Blog #2: Formentor

If you’re asking google ‘where to go in Mallorca’ one of the answer will definitely be Cala Formentor! This beach left me speechless.. Even though it’s a very narrow and long beach, it has amazingly white fine sand and features beautiful pine trees. Cala Formentor is one of the finest natural beaches in Mallorca, surrounded by woods and the Tramuntana mountains. Situated in the north west of Majorca, on the Bay of Pollenca and it’s considered to be one of the most beautiful spots on the island. And did I mention the turquoise crystal clear water? For a moment, you can forget you’re in Spain. This could be Thailand or any other tropical place in the world. A real gem of Mallorca!

At the far end of the beach you can rent pedalos, kayaks and jet skis. We enjoyed an hour of kayaking along the coastline, which is a great way to get tanned, exercise and admire the beach from the sea. After the beach we headed to Barcelo hotel for a drink. They have a lovely big garden and a romantic patio that you must visit.

On our way back we stopped in one of the famous lookout points around the area called Es Colomer Mirador. It's a must-visit when you're in the area. The panorama from Mallorca's Finisterre illuminates Menorca in the east, Cala Figuera in the west, and Alcudia with its sandy beach in the south. Amazing views and a great spot for photos!
