I turned 30 in April and normally I don’t organise anything big for my Birthday. Just a simple dinner with close friends and family. But somehow this year it turned out to be extra big.. Or should I say 'great'! Like Great Gatsby. My boyfriend, Sam, who's Birthday is very close to mine and as he was turning 30 as well, we thought why not celebrate it together and do it properly. I always had a dream to have a Gatsby Bday Party, but I would have never thought it would become real..
The Location
We found the perfect Gatsby-style Villa in Nueva Andalucia, near Magna in no time and instead of renting it for a weekend we got the place for the whole week and invited my friends from Estonia over. It was a great way of getting to know the house, thinking already about the layout and details of the great night. The 5-bedroom villa had two amazing stairs, perfect for a Gatsby entrance! The Invitation
Since the party theme was Gatsby, the invite had to be super classy. I bought a really cool design online, changed the details on it myself and printed the invitations in Eyeprint in Nueva Andalucia. We sent the invites by post and started waiting for the RSVPs of our 70 guests..
The Decoration
I got a lot of ideas from Pinterest, I even created a whole folder dedicated to that theme! But since the house was already so decadent and had a lot of cool chic details, it really didn’t take a lot to make it look like a Gatsby Villa. I really loved the messages in frames, especially the Instagram Hashtag one, which for that night was #TeneSam30. I also got a lot of small lights, pearls, some feathers and paper pompoms for the party and my mother surprised us with big golden Happy Birthday balloons!
