Thailand Travel Blog #2: Oriental Residence Bangkok

Even though I stayed at this beautiful hotel just before coming home to Marbella, I wanted to post about it now since I just introduced you to Bangkok. And it was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Combining Eastern designs and modern comforts, Oriental Residence Bangkok oozes luxury and class as soon as the porter opens the doors for you. As soon as we arrived to the chic lobby area, we were greeted with fresh pineapple juice and even though we were slightly early, we were already allowed to check-in to our room.

We stayed in the Grand Deluxe room, which is one of the 145 lavishly appointed rooms in this 21-storey tall five star boutique hotel. Not only did I fall in love in the interior design of it, I was surprised to see it came with a full kitchen and a spacious wardrobe area in the bathroom. I believe that it’s the little things that make a difference in a hotel and that can change my stay from a great one to an excellent one. The complimentary hand-made macaroons, super soft robes, high-speed Wi-Fi, small quotes with a fresh flower on my king size bed every morning and a timeless charm that comes from combining classic European furnishings with a soothing palette of white on pastel blue, marble and hardwood floors. And did I mention the views? Just breathtaking. Made me want to leave the curtains open at all times.

Luxury never goes out of fashion

The Play Deck

Besides the amazing room, I enjoyed relaxing on the hotel’s luxurious Play Deck located on the 4th floor. Besides the semi-shaded swimming pool and cosy egg chairs, I enjoyed reading on the cushy veiled cabanas. Not only can you enjoy the poolside during the day you must try one of their cocktails in the evening before or after dinner. My favourite part of the Play Deck was its quietness and relaxing atmosphere - the music, the view and the attentiveness of the staff - everything to help you relax to the max in this bustling city scene. If you’re looking for more of an active vacation, make your way to the full equipped gym on the same floor (also with a view!). Did you know besides the hotel suites Oriental Residence Bangkok offers also luxury serviced residences?

Café Claire

The breakfast is served in their Parisian style Café Claire that offers a fantastic menu of A la Carte breakfast dishes such as Eggs Benedict or Pancakes with a buffet of fruit, croissants, Thai dishes, juices and TWG gourmet teas. I love the fact that they prepare the eggs or the omelette or whatever you fancy from the menu on the spot. Freshly made breakfast served with smiles in a French bistro makes you feel like you’re actually in Paris! For the ones with a sweet tooth, Café Claire offers a traditional afternoon tea between 14:30-17:30 as well as lunch and dinner.

Location

Oriental Residence Bangkok is situated in the city’s most notable embassy and shopping district. 15-minute walk to the beautiful Lumpini park, 10-minute walk from the Central Embassy luxury mall and just 8km from the royal Grand Palace. Make sure to purchase the cute Oriental Residence Charity Teddy Bear that will be a great reminder of your amazing stay there. Whether in town for business or travel, this hotel will surely put your mind at ease and lifts your spirits with its convenience, casual elegance, and impressive service. Staying in the Oriental Residence was one of the best luxury experiences in Bangkok and it was the best way to finish our Thailand travels. And I will make sure my next Thailand holiday will also start there..

P.S. I would also like to thank Laura Rand, the cluster manager, for the warm welcome!
