I am so happy to share this new 'thing' I discovered. Actually my mother did. It’s called Microblading. It’s not only saves you time every morning, but also your eyebrows will be ‘on fleek’. Every day. For 1 year. (or more) Without any makeup required.
Microblading is a new and old technology. It has become more popular this year, but it actually originated in Asia and is also known as eyebrow embroidery. It’s a fantastic treatment for anyone looking to improve or enhance the appearance of their eyebrows.
Microblading is an innovative new technique designed for drawing thin 3D hair strokes about 1mm under the skin’s surface using a specially designed tool and all-natural pigment (no machines).
Microblading can fill in sparse brows or create a new brow. Unlike traditional eyebrow tattoos, the Microblading method won't leave a flat dull look and is a much safer treatment. The "3D" effect adds realism to the end result; which makes this the perfect procedure for Men and Women seeking to improve the look of their brows and you can have natural looking makeup, 24/7.
How long is the procedure?
This will vary with the type of work you are having done and of course of your sensitivity. Usually it takes 1-2 hours.
How long does it last?
Microblading lasts 6 months to 2 years and fade completely without leaving a shadow behind. To maintain Microblading, touch ups are necessary every 6 - 9 months.
How often do I need a touch up?
Touch ups are recommended every six months to a year, to keep the color and strokes fresh.
Does it hurt?
Microblading method is the gentlest method you will find for implanting permanent color into the skin. For me the feeling is very similar to tweezing. If you are sensitive, they can also use topical anesthetic.
Anything to avoid after the procedure?
Yes. Heavy exercise should be avoided for at least a week for best results—any sweat formed on your brows can fade your healing color. Swimming should be on hold for at least a week, pool chemicals would erode your healing color as well. Outdoors activities such as gardening or golf can be resumed as long as your treatment area remains clean, dry, and out of the sun. For best results do not expose your procedure to any unnecessary wear.
My mother took a professional course and she is now practising Microblading successfully in Estonia (where I’m from). Since I have extra light eyebrows I decided to try it out. The procedure itself is not as painful as I imagined and although they seem quite dark in the beginning the colour will fade last least 30%, so don’t be scared when browsing the before and after photos since most of them are done straight after the procedure. Also since I had mine done in December, I also have to have them retouched.
Even though my mother lives in Estonia, she is occassionally in Marbella, so if you’re interested in getting your eyebrows done, please don’t hesitate to contact me for an appointment: tenesommer@gmail.com.
